About the artwork:

The Karst, from where I have chosen to draw my inspiration, pours into me its colours which shatter against the wall I have inside. I feel chromatic landslides, hollows of thoughts that urge to break free. This land, so rough and ferrous where the blinding white of the limestone stands out and dominates the whole environment has understood my narrative urge. There I find the matter for my works every time. I plunge my hands into the red soil and with the world I become one. The light expands again inside me. I am born again. The heat is no longer the one I felt on my face while my whole body was freezing. It permeates me now. I took the veil off. Each warm pulsation of the flame is followed by a stroke on the canvas. It’s yours. It’s me.

Swiss pine or Cirmolo:

The Swiss pine, also known as Cirmolo or stone pine, is an evergreen tree that thrives in the high-altitude regions of the Alps. What sets the Swiss pine apart are its numerous branches and distinctive grain, along with a resinous, refreshing scent that can linger for decades. This unique aroma comes from the essential oils within the wood, which contribute to its remarkable properties. For centuries, the Swiss pine has been renowned—and scientifically validated—for its calming effects, effectively lowering heart rate and promoting relaxation.

Note:

Freshly cut pine wood exudes a delicate, resinous fragrance. As it ages over one to two years, the wood undergoes oxidation, developing a sweeter, almost honey-like scent.

The natural imperfections in each piece are embraced as part of its artistic charm.

Treated with wax, the wood requires minimal care; simply wipe it down with a clean, dry cotton cloth for daily maintenance.
